H. Launette; 1883; Leather Bound; Bound by J. Kauffmann in a handsome three quarter brown crushed morocco over marbled boards, and a decorative spine with inlays of light brown leather and gilt designs. Top edges gilt, silk ribbon marker, and marbled endpapers. Illustrated throughout in full color, with many vignettes and decorative borders. Rubbing to the leather along the edges with some loss in places, but not too bad, and corners have some wear and slight bumping. Internally about Fine, with H. Launette; 1883; Leather Bound; Bound by J. Kauffmann in a handsome three quarter brown crushed morocco over marbled boards, and a decorative spine with inlays of light brown leather and gilt designs. THIS ITEM IS LARGE/HEAVY AND MAY REQUIRE EXTRA SHIPPING FOR INTERNATIONAL OR EXPEDITED DELIVERY 4to 11' - 13' tall Four Volumes. Bound by the publisher in three quarter brown morocco over brown pebbled cloth boards, with gilt titles on the front panel, gilt decorated spine compartments raised bands and titles. All edges gilt. Each volume contains many full page wood & steel engravings by noted German artists. Volume 1 (poems): 375pp.; Volume 2 (dramas): 388pp.; Volume 3 (dramas): 340pp.; Volume 4 (histories): 370pp. Some rubbing with a bit of loss of leather in places along the edges of the spines and corners; top corners of Volume 4 slightly bumped; the ffep's are affixed to the first blank leaf (glued) in each volume, but does not affect the text block. Binding and pages remain solid, with no marks to text, and aside from some minute and small patches of foxing to a few of the plates as well as the preliminary pages, an overall Very Good set.

8vo 8' - 9' tall rebound in green faux leather cloth, with gilt titles on spine. Overall a nice copy with a bit of moinor wear in places, but not bad. This is William Russel Dudley's copy, a noted botanist (March 1, 1849 – June 4, 1911) at Stanford University. Bound in at the back are a variety of title wraps for later editions of Howell's Flora of Northwest America, each is signed by Dudley, with notes regarding page numbers etc. A nice association copy.
